Having gained considerable experience in the sports related industry throughout a long professional career both as a Player, Coach, Tutor and Technical Director, Packie has most recently been working as a sports consultant to a number of leading sports organisations namely, UEFA, FIFA, Paralympics Ireland and a number of Football Associations throughout Europe.
Since his playing career ended he has been employed in, and still remains very focussed on and passionate about the evolvement of football locally, nationally and internationally. This is not just at the professional level, but also at “grass roots”. This has focused, in particular, on encouraging and creating opportunities for children, youths and young adults for life long participation in the sport.

As a member of UEFA’s Technical Panel, as requested by the UEFA Coaching Department and the UEFA JIRA Panel (coach education panel), I carry out assignments to evaluate, monitor and assist Football Associations throughout Europe on coach education matters
As a member of the UEFA JIRA Panel, I have been given responsibility to complete the development of the first UEFA Goalkeeping advanced course leading to a UEFA A GK Licence
As a member of FIFA’s Technical Panel, as requested by the FIFA Coaching Department, I carry out assignments relating to GK Coach education in various countries world wide
Assisting Clyde FC in the development of their Goalkeepers and their GK Coaches
Commissioned to carry out an internal review and report on the work and effectiveness of the internal ‘Administration Team’ of Paralympics Ireland for London 2012 games and outline recommendations for improvements leading into the new cycle for the Paralympics games in Rio de Janeiro 2016
