Biography

As a successful and much sought after stand up comedien, actor, writer and presenter, Jack Whitehall has firmly established himself as one of the UK's most exciting and successful comedy talents. A statement cemented by his People's Choice Award for the King of Comedy at the 2012 British Comedy Awards.

More recently, Jack has moved towards acting, receiving critical acclaim and a British Comedy Award nomination for his portrayal of former public schoolboy JP in the hit Channel 4 comedy drama Fresh Meat. He has also written and starred in his own sitcom for BBC Three, Bad Education, playing Alfie - the worst teacher ever to grace the British education system. Other popular television appearances include his comedy show, Hit the Road, Jack and his position as a regular panellist ont he fifth series of Sky 1's League of Their Own.

Jack has performed several sell-out stand up shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, gaining rave reviews from critics and audiences. In 2009 he was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards for his debut solo Fringe show, Nearly Rebellious. In 2010 he returned with a new show, Learning Difficulties. In 2011 he brought two shows to the Fringe: his solo show Let's Not Speak Of This Again and, with his father, the chat show Back Chat.

In July 2010 Jack performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival as part of the prestigious New Faces line up and was picked out by Hollywood industry bible Variety as one of their "10 Comics to Watch". 2010 also saw a nomination for the Best Male Comedy Breakthrough Artist category at the British Comedy Awards and the honour of performing for the Prince of Wales at the Royal Variety Performance.

In 2011, Jack performed at the first ever Secret Policeman's Ball to be held at the Radio City Hall in New York. Other recent television appearances include Have I Got News For You as a guest host, QI, Live at the Apollo and as a gues on The Graham Norton Show.
