Stéphane Diagana is a former French track and field sprinter and hurdler, who  won three gold medals.  Today he is a businessman, a sports commentator, and a leading specialist in sports training and sports nutrition. He is the founder of Campus Diagana Sport Health, a centre of excellence, research and development, dedicated to sport and health.

During his 15 year athletics career, Diagana won the gold medal in the 400 metres hurdles at the 1997 World Championships in Athens, becoming the first Frenchman to win this title. In the same event, he won the gold medal at the European Championships in Munich in 2002. At the 2003 World Championships in Paris, he also won the 4 x 400 metres relay gold medal.

While still competing as an athlete in 1998, aged 29, Diagana took a masters in management at ESCP Europe in Paris, one of the country’s top business schools. As a sporting celebrity, he was always marketable in France, but he remained focused on creating a venture linking sport and health, which he has now realised with Campus Diagana Sport Health.

Diagana retired from competitions in 2004, and became a consultant and television commentator, as well as an advisor to the French Athletics Federation. In 2007, he became the first President of France’s National Athletics League, for professional athletes, and on 7 Apr 2008, Diagana was an Olympic torch runner for the 2008 Olympics.

In 2009, he was appointed by the French Sports Minister as Ambassador for a national programme promoting nutrition and physical activity.
