Ottmar Hitzfeld is one of the world's most successful football coaches and one of the most distinguished personalities in German sports. 

With Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich he was German Football Champion and won the UEFA-Champions League with each team.

From 2008 until 2014 he was coach of the Swiss national football team and passed the qualifying for Football World Championship in Brasil 2014, where his team made the round of 16.
The defeat in the match against Argentina meant the end for the Swiss national team in this Championship and also the end of Hitzfeld's career as the Swiss national coach.
