Dr. Adam Marshall

Director General, British Chambers of Commerce

Biography

Adam Marshall is Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) – one of the UK’s leading business organisations, where he represents the interests of over 75,000 businesses, covering every region, size and sector, who collectively employ nearly six million people. Marshall is also involved in the global trade agenda, through the BCC’s network of 55 global British Chambers and as Vice-Chair of the ICC World Chambers Federation.

Marshall has strong insights into Westminster and Whitehall, through regular contact with senior political figures across the spectrum, including top UK Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet ministers. He is currently heavily engaged on the current and potential impacts of Brexit on British and international business of all sectors and sizes – and is working to ensure that political leaders in the UK and the EU are focused on the real-world, practical issues affecting businesses.

Examples of engagement include membership of the Prime Minister’s Business Council, and a range of other top-level ministerial advisory groups – as well as frequent and regular scheduled meetings with senior cabinet ministers on issues affecting business, including Brexit.
