Biography

Dr Linda Yueh is one of the most popular speakers on global trends and a renowned economist. She regularly gives private briefings to numerous global organisations who value her insights.

Dr. Linda Yueh is Fellow in Economics, St Edmund Hall, Oxford University, Adjunct Professor of Economics, London Business School, and author of The Great Economists: How Their Ideas Can Help Us Today. The U.S. edition is: What Would the Great Economists Do? How Twelve Brilliant Minds Would Solve Today’s Biggest Problems. Her book was selected as The Times’s Best Business Books of the Year and as Newsweek’s Best Fiction and Non-Fiction of the Year.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Yueh is a broadcaster, including for BBC Radio 4 and the World Service, and was the BBC’s Chief Business Correspondent and host of “Talking Business with Linda Yueh”, as well as Economics Editor at Bloomberg TV. 

Dr. Yueh is also Visiting Professor at LSE IDEAS where she also sits on the supervisory Policy Committee of the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She was Co-Chair of the Global Cities Business Alliance (GCBA), and serves on the Advisory Board of The Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF). She is a Board Director of FTSE-listed companies and Chair of The Royal Commonwealth Society, as well as Trustee of the Coutts Foundation and Malaria No More UK. She has advised the World Bank, European Commission, Asian Development Bank, and World Economic Forum, among many others. She has been an advisor to the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), and a Board member of London & Partners, the official promotion agency for London.

She is widely published and is the Editor of the Economic Growth and Development book series at Routledge. Her books include: Macroeconomics (with Graeme Chamberlin), Globalisation and Economic Growth in China (with Yang Yao), The Law and Economics of Globalisation: New Challenges for a World in Flux, The Future of Asian Trade and Growth: Economic Development with the Emergence of China, Enterprising China: Business, Economics and Legal Developments Since 1979, and the award-winning China’s Growth: The Making of an Economic Superpower. Her latest book is The Great Economists: How Their Ideas Can Help Us Today. (US edition: What Would the Great Economists Do? How Twelve Brilliant Minds Would Solve Today’s Biggest Problems.)
