Ard van der Steur was minister for Security and Justice in the Netherlands between 2015 and 2017. He served as the Chairman of the European Justice and Home Affairs council during the Presidency of the Netherlands of the European Union.
Van der Steur was the spokesperson on security and justice in the Dutch Parliament between 2010 and 2015. Van der Steur left the international law firm NautaDutilh as salaried partner in 2006 and co-founded the successful law-firm Legaltree in the following years. He is a lawyer, politician and entrepreneur.
